The whole Wimbledon RFC community is truly saddened to hear of the passing of Club champion, Nigel Hillier.
Nigel was involved in Wimbledon from 2013, firstly as a parent to three players, Dan, Will and Elizabeth and later, from 2014, as a volunteer. Nigel was the first graphic designer the Club ever really had and worked tirelessly to bring together all graphics that were flying around the Club in the lead up to the 150th Anniversary, in 2015. Nigel worked, first on creating the crest as we see today, and more widely on all the graphics that supported the 150th Anniversary celebrations. Moving into the latter half of the 2010s, Nigel was the designer for the first professional looking programme the Club had seen, often adding in his own artistic flare in the round up of the week. The Club and Nigel received repeated, high praise for all of the graphics work that was being produced out of the Club and we feel so lucky to have been able to work with Nigel, both personally and professionally.
Nigel was also the very proud recipient of the Clubman of the Year award in 2017, we will remember that night of celebrating with him fondly.
Nigel's legacy will live on in the professional logos and designs you will see around the Club in many different formats today.
