Head Coach heads to Richmond.

Wimbledon RFC announces that Head Coach James Brooks will be taking on a new role as the men's attack and backs coach at Richmond Rugby.

We support James in continuing his professional growth and making an impact in the wider rugby community. His contributions to Wimbledon have been invaluable, and his new position at Richmond is a testament to his exceptional skills and dedication.

We look forward to maintaining a strong relationship with James and Richmond Rugby, and we are confident that this move will foster greater collaboration and mutual success for both clubs.

Stef D’Anna, Head of Senior Rugby at Wimbledon RFC, commented: “James requested to be released from his contract for the forthcoming season. A last-minute opportunity has arisen at Richmond which we believe is an important career development proposition for James and reinforces Wimbledon's important role in the wider rugby pathway, not just for players but also coaches. We would like to thank James for his last two years of service, wish him well, and look forward to keeping in touch”.

Head of Rugby at Richmond, Rob Powell, added: “We are really pleased to have recruited James back to the club, having previously been a player coach here. He is an outstanding coach with a great reputation and will have a significant impact working on our attack structure and the backs across the performance squad. I would also like to thank Wimbledon for allowing James to be released in order to take up this opportunity. We wish to develop a mutually beneficial partnership to support rugby in the local area”.

Wimbledon RFC remains committed to nurturing talent and contributing to the growth and success of rugby at all levels and will be announcing it's new coaching appointments shortly.
